The Magus Circle Release Date

Steam currently lists 24 September 2026 as the planned date for The Magus Circle. The full game is Steam app 2796640, marked coming soon. By Witchlight is both developer and publisher. This page is the date sheet: what the store shows, what the studio has said in public, and what is still blank. It is not a countdown widget and it is not a promise that the build will appear in your library on that morning.

If you only remember one sentence, remember this: Steam lists 24 September 2026. If that tile changes, the listing is the source, not a screenshot on this wiki. Pair this page with the Updates Hub and the Next Fest recap so you can separate festival history from the full-game calendar.

What the Steam page actually lists

  • Status: coming soon (full game).
  • Planned date on the store: 24 September 2026.
  • Platforms: Windows, macOS, and Linux.
  • Mode: single-player.
  • Languages: English and Korean (interface and subtitles).
  • Family Sharing: listed as a store category. Unreleased titles often stay locked until the product is live; treat the checkbox as a listing, not as a copy you can share today.
  • Steam Deck: official compatibility Unknown.
  • Price: not listed yet. Do not guess USD, KRW, or a discount.

The store also lists Family Sharing beside other Steam features. That is normal packaging for a coming-soon app. It does not mean a friend can borrow your copy before the product exists in the catalog as a purchasable build.

Demo versus full game

The Magus Circle Demo is a separate app: 4289390. It opened on 23 February 2026 for Steam Next Fest. It is not the 24 September listing. Players who only want a date for “when can I draw Ice Spear” need both numbers:

If the demo is still listed, you can try sigils, the Magus Mansion hub, and the first mages before the full store date. If it has been pulled, the demo guide still explains what that build contained. Hardware notes live on system requirements. Wishlist habits live on the wishlist checklist.

Who is shipping it

By Witchlight is a small studio. Steambase credits Sean Porio, Dayoon Lee, and Kevin Ray / KevDev. The team grew after a Smilegate-sponsored stay in Korea and a booth at Play for X. That trip is the subject of the video on this page. In the studio’s own recap, wishlist attention led to a Korean showcase, then to office space, playtesters, and a harder production sprint. The public claims from that stretch: six playable characters with unique abilities, three additional maps with procedural generation, and a spell list that moved from about twelve unique spells toward twenty, plus UI and story revamps aimed at a Next Fest demo.

Those claims describe development work, not a finished 24 September package. The festival demo that followed showed a slice: hand-drawn sigils, crude recognition so messy lines still cast, a mansion hub, familiars, tea, and the first of the six mages. Character pages for Milk, Rum, and Matcha sit under the players hub. The full roster was always framed as a full-game goal.

How to read a planned Steam date

Indie store dates slip. They also sometimes hold. The honest player move is:

  1. Wishlist app 2796640 so Steam can mail you if the listing flips or a price appears.
  2. Follow the game on Steam and join the Discord invites on the links page.
  3. Treat Patreon as optional. The Next Fest thank-you post pointed at Patreon for diaries, wallpapers, music, and a possible extra demo around the end of March. That March note is historical — it is what the post said after the festival, not a promise this wiki repeats as current.
  4. Practice on the demo if Steam still lists it. Drawing skill transfers. Use How to Draw Spells and the spell sigils table rather than inventing glyphs.
  5. Ignore “guaranteed launch day” videos. This page will stay on store language until By Witchlight or Steam says otherwise.

Support mail is info@themaguscircle.com. The studio site is bywitchlight.com. YouTube is @TheMagusCircle. None of those channels replace the Steam date tile, but they are the places a slip, a demo refresh, or a price would show up first.

What you can do in the waiting window

Learn the loop from Getting Started and How to Play. Boss pacing is on How to Beat Bosses. Rankings for spells, characters, and upgrades help you plan a single-player build without pretending a second mage is sitting on your couch. The Guides Hub and Tools Hub exist so the date page does not have to double as a manual.

The Tide does not care whether you pre-ordered, because there is nothing to pre-order until Steam prints a price. Wishlist, follow, stretch your hand, and check this page when the store tile moves.
