Coffee in The Magus Circle

Coffee is the third portrait on The Magus Circle’s 0.4.6 character-select rail, sitting under Matcha and above Chicha. Green skin, gold jewelry, sun-emblem robes. He is also a Magus Mansion speaker. This wiki will not collapse those two jobs into NPC-only. You can pick Coffee on the select screen. You can also meet Coffee in a hub room with a table that looks like a cauldron. Both facts are true at once.

The Magus Circle is a single-player survival roguelite. Steam lists 24 September 2026. The Next Fest demo opened on 23 February 2026. Nothing here is a live patch note for a client that has not shipped. If a tooltip in your build disagrees with this page, the tooltip wins.

What the 0.4.6 rail actually shows

A Steam screenshot of the select screen, labeled 0.4.6 in the corner, prints six faces top to bottom: Milk, Matcha, Coffee, Chicha, Rum, Anchan. Coffee is unlocked in that shot. Anchan is not. The portrait is a small green-skinned caster in brown and gold, matching the larger dialogue art on the right side of the mansion screenshot.

That is the published identity. There is no Nimble paragraph. There is no Bunny Form timer. There is no Spellblade prestige list. By Witchlight has not printed a Coffee combat tooltip in the materials this wiki used. If a fan page invents a sun-beam ultimate, a caffeine haste, or a cauldron DoT, it is fanfic. Read the in-game card. Believe that card. Come back here when the text is public enough to quote the way Milk’s page quotes Nimble.

The mansion line, quoted

A store screenshot of Magus Mansion dialogue labels the speaker Coffee. The box reads:

The room is a hall with purple drapes, hanging lanterns, chests, and a round table holding a green bowl. A Milk-like bunny witch stands near the table. A small green-haired figure stands with her. The large portraits at the sides are the bunny witch on the left and Coffee on the right: gold rings, a pendant, a staff with a red crystal, a blue sash stamped with a sun. A Skip button sits in the corner. This is between-run space, not a Tide arena.

Two things that line does not do:

• It does not name a passive.
• It does not prove Coffee is hub-only.

It does set the tone. Coffee is dry. Slightly disappointed. Still handing you tools. Store copy already promised you would meet other mages and unlock abilities between runs. This screenshot is that promise with a name on the box.

Walk the same building on the magus mansion page: tea, familiars, tarot, Odds the bartender-bookie. Coffee is a playable face who also talks there. Odds is not playable. Do not mix those two.

How to learn the kit without a wiki rumor

The Magus Circle is single-player. You cannot bring Milk as a familiar and Coffee as a caster in the Tide. You pick one face and draw.

1. Open the select card. Screenshot the tooltip if you stream. The mages hub will stay conservative until those words are public.
2. Draw one sigil you can finish. Drawing rules do not change because the robe has a sun on it. How to play is the Tide loop. Getting started is the first-hour order. Practice strokes on how to draw spells if you still abort circles.
3. Watch whether Coffee wants you close or far. Milk wants near-misses. Rum wants Spellblade stacks. Coffee may want duration, area, or something the card will say. Let the first chest tell you.
4. Die on purpose once and talk in the mansion. The cauldron room is story. The Tide is still a drawing exam.

Demo-era spells you may still be offered: Ice Spear, Riptide (later Quazar / Wattatsumi), meteor swarm, chain lightning, magic missile. Rank them as Tide tools on the spell tier list, not as Coffee uniques unless the card says so. The spell sigils table is the cheat sheet for shapes.

Tarot that does not pretend to be a signature

Coffee shops in the same Magus Mansion as everyone else. Demo-era cards from a 0.4.1 tarot shot:

• The Empress — Upright +10% Speed, Reversed +10% Mana Efficiency.
• The Priestess and The Hierophant — +0.5 Mana Regen each (Hierophant showed as T1).
• The Emperor — +10% Duration at T1.
• The Magus — lists Bunny Form, which is Milk’s tool. Buy it on Coffee only if the tooltip says it does something for you.

The 250+ upgrade pool will throw off-theme gifts. Use the upgrade tier list as a type guide. Mana and movement still help a mage whose kit we cannot quote. Duration helps lingering waves. None of those cards reprint Coffee’s missing combat text.

Comparisons without a fake stat block

• Versus Milk: Milk has numbers. Nimble and Bunny Form are printed. Start there if you still fail circles.
• Versus Matcha: Matcha is the tea-room antlered mage with a Meet Matcha short. Coffee shares a green palette and also talks in the mansion. They are different portraits. Matcha is not Coffee’s last name.
• Versus Rum: Rum has Spellblade, crits, a parry, and prestige names. If you want a defined combat fantasy today, Rum’s page is thicker.
• Versus Chicha: fourth on the rail, green-gold sprite, same problem as Coffee — no public combat tooltip in the materials we have.
• Versus Anchan: sixth, locked at 25 currency (purple droplet) on the same 0.4.6 shot. That 25 is a demo-era price, not a launch promise.

The character tier list keeps Coffee in a preview band with a caveat, not a fake S-tier sun kit.

A session that respects the screenshot

Wishlist the full game (Steam app 2796640) from getting started. If the Next Fest demo (app 4289390) still installs, take Milk once, then Coffee once. Compare how often you finish sigils. That comparison is worth more than a wiki rumor. Hardware is the same for every mage: mouse is enough, tablet is optional. English and Korean are the store languages.

What this page will add later

On or after the date Steam lists — 24 September 2026 — we want a quoted passive, a quoted signature if he has one, and any tarot that names him. Until By Witchlight prints those lines, Coffee stays the green-skinned third portrait who also tells you the bowl is not a cauldron. That is already two confirmed jobs. It is not an excuse to fabricate a third.

Read the card. The sun on the sash is art. The disappointed line is writing. The kit is whatever the 0.4.6-or-later tooltip actually says when you click the third portrait.
