The Magus Circle System Requirements

The Magus Circle is a 2D sigil-drawing roguelite, not a ray-traced shooter. The Steam page still deserves a careful read, because the storage line lies by omission if you only look at the full-game tile. This page copies the listed minimums and recommended specs for Windows, macOS, and Linux, then adds the two numbers players actually hit during Steam Next Fest.

Steam lists 24 September 2026 for the full game (app 2796640). The demo opened on 23 February 2026 (app 4289390). Both builds target Windows, macOS, and Linux. Official Steam Deck compatibility is Unknown. The game is single-player, with English and Korean interface and subtitles. Price is not listed yet. For the calendar, use the release date page. Steam client note: starting 1 January 2024, the Steam client itself only supports Windows 10 and later. A store line that still mentions Windows 7 SP1+ does not mean you can run modern Steam on that OS. If your box is stuck on 7, you fail the client check before The Magus Circle ever draws a circle.

Recommended RAM is 8 GB. Minimum is 4 GB. Sigil recognition is cheap compared with a 3D open world, but browser-Steam-Discord stacks still eat memory. If you plan to keep a spell sigils tab open while you play, budget the recommended 8 GB.

Intel Macs that still meet High Sierra are on the minimum line, not the comfortable one. Apple Silicon is the recommended processor family. Metal is required either way. If your Mac cannot run Metal, it cannot run this listing.

Linux is the only full-game table that already quotes 2 GB of storage. That is closer to what festival players saw than the 500 MB Windows/macOS line. Aerith is the Steam Deck APU family name. A GTX 1050-class comparison is the store’s own wording, not a promise that every 1050 laptop is a perfect match. Official Deck compatibility remains Unknown even though the Linux table reads like a Deck target.

500 MB on the store, ~2.2 GB in the demo

This is the part people missed in February.

• Full-game store page: 500 MB on Windows and macOS; 2 GB on the Linux/SteamOS table.
• Next Fest demo depots: about 2.2 GB on disk (Windows, macOS, and Linux depots were all in that neighborhood).

Both numbers can be true at once. A store tile can quote a tiny install. A Unity or Godot-style project with audio, VO, and mansion art can unpack far larger. Keep extra space. If you have 600 MB free, you may satisfy the Windows tile and still fail a demo download. Leave a few gigabytes, especially if you also keep Steam’s shader cache and a recording overlay.

The demo guide explains what that build contained. This page only cares whether your disk and GPU can hold it.

Input, display, and language — not in the Steam table

Steam’s spec box does not mention a drawing tablet. You do not need one. A mouse is enough for crude recognition. A tablet is optional comfort if you already own one. How to Draw Spells covers motion. This page only needs you to confirm you have a pointing device that can make a stroke.

A controller is not the point of a sigil game. If you insist on one, you will still need a way to draw. Do not buy hardware for a Deck verification that Valve has not given.

Pick English or Korean in the language menu. Those are the two listed languages. There is no third store language to chase.

How to use this page before a run

1. Confirm OS + Steam client (Windows 10+ in practice).
2. Confirm 4 GB RAM minimum, 8 GB recommended on Windows.
3. Confirm a DX10+/Metal/RDNA2-class GPU as listed.
4. Reserve more than 500 MB — plan for the ~2.2 GB demo size plus breathing room.
5. Tick the rest of the wishlist checklist.
6. If the machine passes, go to Getting Started or How to Play. If it fails, stop; no amount of upgrade rankings will boot a PC that cannot run Steam.

By Witchlight (Sean Porio, Dayoon Lee, Kevin Ray / KevDev) listed modest specs because the game is 2D. Modest is not zero. Check the disk. Then draw.
