Milk in The Magus Circle

Milk is the bunny-ear witch on the left rail of The Magus Circle’s character select. She is the female protagonist the studio highlighted in an official short, and she is the kit this wiki recommends for a first Tide. The Magus Circle is a single-player roguelite: you draw every spell. Milk’s kit is built so a messy circle does not have to be a death sentence.

Steam lists the full game for 24 September 2026. Milk’s numbers below come from a version 0.4.6 select screen in Steam screenshots. They can change. If a patch moves a cooldown, trust the in-game card over this page and then come back.

Published kit

The select screen prints two abilities in plain English.

Nimble. Milk gains a burst of speed and mana when she closely evades a monster. This is not a parry and it is not a dodge roll with i-frames the studio never described. It is a near-miss tax. Walk a hitbox, get paid. The payment is the two resources you need while drawing: space and mana.

Bunny Form. Milk can temporarily transform herself into a bunny for 3 seconds. In Bunny Form she gains 25% move speed and decreases in size by 50%. Cooldown: 25 seconds. The portrait art is a translucent bunny silhouette in a cage, which is flavor, not a status you inflict on enemies.

That is the entire published kit. Do not add a third signature we have not seen. Spell choices still come from the run: Ice Spear, Riptide, meteor swarm, chain lightning, magic missile, and the rest of the ~20 unique spells. Milk does not own Ice Spear. She owns the feet that keep you alive while you draw it.

Demo-era totals on that spread included Spell Power +25%, Magic Scale +85%, DoT Potency +175%, DoT Duration +0%, Mana Regen +1, Mana Cost −15%, Crit Chance +15%, and Crit Damage 2.5x. How Nimble wants you to move

Survivor-likes usually reward standing in a fireball because the auto-attack is on a timer. The Magus Circle does the opposite. The cursor is busy drawing. Milk turns that problem into a loop:

1. Start a sigil while a pack is still a body-length away.
2. Finish the glyph or abort if a claw is about to connect.
3. Slip the hitbox. Nimble should fire. Spend the mana on the next circle, not on panic walking into a wall.

If you never see the speed burst, you are either too far (safe, but dry on mana) or too late (hit). Practice the distance in the how to draw spells guide. Crude lines still count; Milk is there so you can be crude while moving.

Bunny Form without wasting the 3 seconds

Three seconds is short. Twenty-five seconds is long. Treat the form as a boss tool and a drawing tool, not a travel cosmetic.

• Boss windows. Leviathans punish planted feet. Pop Bunny Form to finish a sigil while the arena shrinks. Details on how to beat bosses.
• Size. Half size is not just cute. It is fewer pixels for the Tide to clip. Combine it with Nimble near-misses and you can farm mana in a crowd that would eat Rum alive.
• Do not chain-fail. If you pop the bunny and then stand still to draw a perfect pentagram, you spent the only mobility cooldown on vanity. Draw while you run.

The Magus tarot card listed Bunny Form on a Steam screenshot. That may be a synergy, a reminder, or a way to extend the identity. Until the 24 September 2026 client prints a tooltip, buy the card if you already live on Bunny Form, and skip it if you never press the ability.

Tarot and upgrades that respect the kit

Milk wants mana and speed. Demo-era cards that match:

• The Empress — Upright +10% Speed, Reversed +10% Mana Efficiency. Upright is the Nimble twin. Reversed is the drawing twin.
• The Priestess / The Hierophant — +0.5 Mana Regen each (Hierophant showed as T1). Regen plus Nimble bursts means you can miss a circle and still have a second try.
• The Emperor — +10% Duration (T1). Helps lingering spells more than Milk’s 3-second bunny, but a longer Ice Spear or Riptide wave is still a Milk win.

In-run upgrades should follow the same rule: duration, mana, movement, and one damage spell you can actually finish. The pool is 250+ unique upgrades. You will not see them all. Use the upgrade tier list as a type guide, not a shopping list. Ice Spear looked aggressive in Next Fest VODs; Riptide (later Quazar beam or Wattatsumi dragon) is the panic button. Rankings live on the spell tier list.

First-run plan on Milk

1. Confirm the machine on system requirements and wishlist via the checklist.
2. Take Milk on the select screen. Leave Anchan locked. Leave Rum for run three.
3. Draw one accepted circle. Then draw it while strafing. The spell sigils table is the cheat sheet.
4. Spend the first chest on whatever makes that sigil safer.
5. Use Bunny Form the first time a dense ring appears, not the first time the animation looks fun.
6. Extract or die, then walk the Magus Mansion. Tea, familiars, Odds the bookie, and tarot are the real second tutorial. How to play covers the loop.

Demo runs often sat around 10–15 minutes if you teleported after a boss. One 30-minute recording met a Leviathan near 13 minutes in the World of Mirna. Milk’s job in that fight is to be small, fast, and still casting — not to facetank.

How she compares on this wiki

• Versus Rum: Rum wants you close for Spellblade crits and a parry. Milk wants you sliding past. If your drawings stall, Milk is kinder.
• Versus Matcha: Matcha’s full combat numbers are not printed the way Milk’s are. Pick Matcha for the tea-room identity, not because a fake wiki passive says she heals.
• Versus Coffee, Chicha, and Anchan: those three now have their own pages. They still lack Milk-level tooltips, so do not steal her Nimble numbers onto them.

Milk is not the highest damage fantasy in a VOD. She is the mage who lets you keep drawing when the Tide is already on your shoes. That is the correct first pick in a game whose entire combat verb is a mouse gesture.
