The Magus Circle Launch Week

Steam still lists 24 September 2026 for The Magus Circle, app 2796640. The store marks the full game coming soon. From mid-September 2026 that tile sat about ten days out; the page even used the store’s own “plans to unlock in approximately 10 days” language. This article is a watch sheet for that window. It is not a ship notice, a key shop, or a claim that the build is in your library this morning.

The official short embedded here is They put our game on the portal! It is a By Witchlight clip about a public screen — tags on the upload point at The Portal in New York — not a countdown overlay for 24 September. Treat it as proof the studio has chased public display for years. Then read the current Steam tile, which is still a planned date.

If you only want the calendar verbs, open the release date page. If you only want February history, open Next Fest. This page is the week around the listing: banner, estimates, demo leftovers, title-screen facts, and the clicks that actually help.

What the store shows in this window

Copy the listing, do not decorate it.

  • Status: coming soon (full game).
  • Planned date: 24 September 2026.
  • Platforms: Windows, macOS, and Linux.
  • Mode: single-player.
  • Languages: English and Korean (interface and subtitles).
  • Steam Deck: official compatibility Unknown.
  • Price: not listed yet. Do not guess USD, KRW, or a launch-week discount.
  • Family Sharing: listed as a store category. Coming-soon apps are often still locked. Wait until the product is actually purchasable before you plan a share.

The store also prints a banner that the game is part of a sale/event. Public curator context around that banner is INDIECRAFT / the Korea Indie Game Festival cluster. Coming-soon titles can sit in a festival grouping without a printed price. This wiki will not invent a discount percentage. If Steam later prints a number, the date page should record it. Until then, the honest sentence is: the page is in an event banner, and there is still nothing to buy.

By Witchlight already had a documented INDIECRAFT 2025 presence (the team presented; the game took an Excellence Award in that year’s write-ups). That is festival history. It does not convert the 2026 coming-soon tile into a checkout button.

Wishlist noise versus the store

Third-party tracker Raijin estimated about 109k wishlists as of 7 September 2026 (the snapshot printed 109,162). Label that as a third-party estimate, not an official By Witchlight or Valve count. Estimates move. Steam itself does not print a public wishlist total on the store page we can quote as gospel.

The useful click is still Wishlist on app 2796640, then Follow so news posts appear in the client. Run the boring list on the wishlist checklist. Hardware and the 500 MB versus ~2.2 GB demo-size mismatch live on system requirements.

Do not buy a “launch key” from a screenshot account. Price is not listed. A key shop inventing one is not a studio store.

Demo leftovers, not the full client

The Magus Circle Demo is a separate app: 4289390. It opened on 23 February 2026 for Steam Next Fest. By Witchlight’s thank-you post said more than 21,000 people stepped into the circle. The review roll at the snapshot this wiki recorded was Very Positive: 163 reviews. That is festival evidence that drawing-to-cast landed. It is not a full-game review score, because the full game is still a coming-soon listing.

If the demo URL still shows an install button, you can practice sigils, the Magus Mansion, and the first mages. If it has been pulled, the demo guide still explains what that slice contained. Drawing skill transfers either way: how to draw spells and the spell sigils table.

Demo and pre-launch builds have shown a simple title menu:

  • New
  • Continue
  • Settings
  • Credits
  • Quit

The copyright line on that screen reads Copyright 2026 By Witchlight. That is the studio name on the legal line, matching the Steam developer and publisher fields. The people behind those five buttons — KevDev, Blank, Cindy, Sean Porio, Rebug, Annamaria Koshy, Joah Park, and the Steambase names — are listed on the studio page. Do not hunt a sixth menu item this wiki has not seen.

New starts a Tide. Continue resumes. Settings is where language (English or Korean) and input live. Credits is the roll this wiki copied. Quit is quit. There is no couch partner to invite from that menu. The Magus Circle is single-player.

TapTap is not a phone ship

A TapTap page exists for pre-register. The listing we recorded named Kevin Ray and reused the Steam pitch: draw sigils, 250+ upgrades, mages and story between runs, over 10 unique challenges. That page is a mobile-store interest listing. Steam is the PC store of record. Steam lists Windows, macOS, and Linux. This wiki does not claim a phone release, a TapTap APK date, or a touch-only client. If you pre-register on TapTap, you are signaling interest. You are not downloading the Steam Tide.

What to do in the remaining days

  1. Wishlist and follow app 2796640. Tick the wishlist checklist.
  2. Confirm disk and GPU against system requirements. Keep extra space beyond the 500 MB Windows tile.
  3. Join the Discord invites on the Links Hub if you want bug channels. Email info@themaguscircle.com for product mail, not wiki edits.
  4. Practice two sigils, not twenty. Ice Spear and Riptide still pay. Milk is the kind first mage; Rum is Spellblade.
  5. Ignore “guaranteed morning of the 24th” videos. Indie store dates hold or they move. This page copies Steam until Steam moves.

Studio site: bywitchlight.com. YouTube: @TheMagusCircle. Korea trip, Smilegate stay, and Play for X belong on the release date page — this week is the store tile, not that essay.

The Tide does not care whether you stared at a portal clip in 2024. Wishlist. Stretch the hand you draw with. Check this listing when the coming-soon state flips.
