The Magus Circle Character Tier List

Six playable mages, ranked on published kits — not rumor passives.

Character Tier List

The Magus Circle shows six playable mages on a 0.4.6 select screen: Milk, Matcha, Coffee, Chicha, Rum, and Anchan. This character tier list ranks them on what is printed, not on a fanfic heal. Steam lists 24 September 2026. The Next Fest demo opened on 23 February 2026. Letters will move.

The game is single-player. You are not drafting a team. A “tier” here means “how ready is this kit for a player who still fails circles.” Deep pages: Milk, Matcha, Rum. Overview: mages hub.

Preview S

Milk. Full tooltip. Nimble: speed and mana on a close evade. Bunny Form: 3 seconds, +25% move speed, 50% smaller, 25-second cooldown. She is the protagonist the studio put in a short, and she is the only mage whose survival loop matches the drawing verb. If you are new, she is S. If you already draw like a tablet masochist, she is still S because near-miss mana feeds Ice Spear. See her build guide.

Preview A

Rum. Magus General. Spellblade signature, crit-focused, blades per mana, shatter-on-crit upgrade, parry upgrade, prestige names Drenal, Ido, Lonlight Chakras. A instead of S for first-timers because the kit wants you close. A for anyone who finished a Milk run and wants a defined combat fantasy. Rum’s page is the spellbook.

Matcha. Unlocked on the rail, official Meet Matcha short, tea-room hub screenshot. A for identity and availability. Not S because the combat passive is not printed like Milk’s. Play her to learn it; do not download a fake kit. Matcha guide.

Preview B

Coffee. Playable portrait and a mansion speaker with the line about tools and a cauldron that is not a cauldron. Green skin, sun emblem. B because we have personality and no numbers. Still worth a run once Ice Spear is comfortable.

Chicha. On the rail, green-gold sprite, no public tooltip in the materials this wiki used. B for “exists.” Promote when a card is quoted.

Anchan. Blue horned mage, locked at 25 currency in the screenshot. Combat footage of a similar caster drawing a purple circle is likely this kit. B for access cost plus missing tooltip. Spend 25 after you can finish sigils, not before.

Not a mage

Odds is a fedora bookie in the mansion bar. Wagers, bottles, gems. Not a seventh character. Curio is named in the Next Fest thank-you as extra sass in the hub. Do not put either on this list.

How to pick for a real session

  1. First session: Milk. Getting Started.
  2. Second session: Rum if you want blades, Matcha if you want the tea-room face.
  3. Third session: Coffee or Chicha as a blind kit test. Write down the tooltip.
  4. Anchan when you have 25 and a finished Ice Spear or Riptide. Spell tier list.
  5. Always: one glyph you can draw. How to draw spells.

Challenges after victories (10+ unique) should wait until the mage is not the problem. Leviathans punish standing still on every face — how to beat bosses.

Tarot is not a character rank

Empress speed, Priestess regen, Emperor duration, Magus Bunny Form — those are purchases in the Magus Mansion, covered on how to play and the upgrade tier list. They can make a B mage feel like A for one run. They do not reprint Anchan’s kit.

Demo versus 24 September 2026

Six characters was a Korea-trip claim that the select screen later showed. Launch could add faces or shuffle locks. Festival recap: Next Fest. Demo notes: demo guide. Calendar: release date. Specs: system requirements. Store and Discord: Links.

If two streamers disagree on Matcha, believe the in-game card. This list will not invent a winner to settle a comment section.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

Who is the best starter mage?

Milk for documented survival tools. Rum if you already draw well.

Why is Matcha A if we lack a passive?

She is unlocked, featured, and playable. A means ready to take into a run, not a fake heal kit. Read Matcha.

Is Anchan bad?

Unknown kit, 25-currency lock in a demo screenshot. B for access, not for damage. See the mages hub.

Can I rank a team composition?

No. The Magus Circle is single-player. One mage per Tide. Hub NPCs are not party members.

Where are spell ranks?

On the spell tier list. Upgrade types are on the upgrade tier list.
