By Witchlight, Studio Behind The Magus Circle

In-game Credits roll, Steambase names, website, email, and socials. Fan wiki — not a studio site.

the-magus-circle.wiki is a fan wiki. By Witchlight did not hire us to copy the Credits screen. If a name, URL, or role on this page disagrees with the in-game roll, the Steam listing, or bywitchlight.com, trust those. We collect the public credits so you are not reverse-engineering a pause menu from a compressed screenshot in a Discord thread.

The Magus Circle is By Witchlight’s first indie game: a single-player survival roguelite where you draw sigils instead of tapping a hotbar. Steam lists 24 September 2026 for app 2796640 on Windows, macOS, and Linux. The demo opened on 23 February 2026. This page is people and contact paths. The calendar lives on release date. The current store window lives on launch week. Official URLs as a set live on the Links Hub.

The short on this page is the studio’s own Speedrunners ruined my game. It is By Witchlight talking about how fast, greedy players shove a design. Next Fest already saw challenge runs lasting over an hour. Treat the clip as tone — a small team watching people break the joke they shipped — not as a hidden patch file. We will not invent the glitch list from the title.

Credits screen (in-game)

The title menu includes Credits next to New, Continue, Settings, and Quit. The roll this wiki copied:

By Witchlight

  • Design & Code: KevDev
  • Art & Animation: Blank
  • VFX, Animation, & Illustration: Cindy
  • Music & Sound: Sean Porio
  • Writing & Narrative Design: Rebug
  • Tooling & Software Development: Annamaria Koshy
  • Additional Writing & Narrative: Joah Park

That is the in-game list. Do not add a producer, a publisher logo, or a voice-over block this screen did not print. Copyright on the title screen reads Copyright 2026 By Witchlight, matching the Steam developer and publisher fields.

Names that also appear on Steam / Steambase

Store-adjacent databases and Steam credits also surface Sean Porio, Dayoon Lee, and Kevin Ray / KevDev. This wiki does not collapse Dayoon Lee into Blank or Cindy. If two public sources use different name styles for the same person, we print both rather than guess. Kevin Ray is KevDev: design and code on the roll, and the face most players met in Next Fest thank-you posts and shorts.

Sean Porio is the published music and sound credit. If you recognize a mansion cue or a Tide sting, that line is why. Rebug holds writing and narrative design; Joah Park is additional writing and narrative. Annamaria Koshy is tooling and software development — the unglamorous work that keeps a drawing recognizer and a hub from collapsing. Blank is art and animation. Cindy is VFX, animation, and illustration. Those two art lines are why the Magus Mansion looks like a place you would drink tea in after a bad Leviathan, not a grey pause menu.

Patreon posts from the art side have used the sign-off blank on Milk stills. That matches the Credits role. It is not a second studio.

Website, mail, socials

  • Website: https://www.bywitchlight.com/ — studio home, Steam button, and the same socials listed below.
  • Email: info@themaguscircle.com — bugs, billing questions once a price exists, demo-will-not-start mail. Do not send wiki edit requests here.
  • Discord: invites the studio has used include discord.gg/7dhYduNDXe and discord.gg/dnB77MEsJK. Prefer these over lookalike servers.
  • YouTube: @TheMagusCircle — trailers, Korea trip, melee short, portal short, this speedrunner short.
  • Instagram: themaguscircle — stills, booth photos, familiars.
  • Patreon: patreon.com/cw/TheMagusCircle — optional diaries, wallpapers, music. The Next Fest thank-you mentioned a possible extra demo around the end of March; that line is historical, not a live promise on this page.

Steam remains the PC store of record: store.steampowered.com/app/2796640/The_Magus_Circle/. A TapTap pre-register page exists; this wiki does not treat it as a phone ship. Platforms on Steam are Windows, macOS, and Linux. Details for the coming-soon window sit on launch week.

The studio site also points at X and TikTok under the same handle family. This page’s required set is website, email, Discord, YouTube, Instagram, and Patreon, plus Steam. If bywitchlight.com adds a channel, the Links Hub should grow with it. There is still no confirmed Trello. Anyone selling a leaked board is inventing homework.

Korea and Smilegate — already written

By Witchlight grew after a Smilegate-sponsored stay in Korea and a Play for X booth. Wishlist attention led to a showcase, then office space, playtesters, and a harder sprint: six playable characters, extra maps, a spell list that moved from about twelve unique spells toward twenty. That story is already on the release date page. This studio article will not copy the whole Korea essay. If you want the trip, open that page and watch the Korea short there. If you want who to credit in a video description, stay here.

INDIECRAFT / Korea Indie Game Festival context also appears as a Steam sale/event banner in the launch-week window. Do not turn a curator cluster into a discount you invented. Festival recap for Next Fest (21k+ players, Very Positive, 163 reviews) sits on Next Fest.

How to use these names without turning them into lore

Credit the roll when you clip a run. Link Steam, not a random key shop. Bug reports belong in Discord or the support mail, not in a one-star draft written at 2 a.m. after a Leviathan. KevDev’s public shorts — melee casting, the portal screen, speedrunners, the Korea stay — are design talk. They are not patch notes with version numbers. If Spellblade’s parry is missing from your build, you are not missing a secret bind; the upgrade may be gated. Kit pages: Rum, Milk, Matcha.

The Magus Circle is still single-player. The Credits list is a small team, not a live-service desk with a 24-hour community manager on every shift. Be kind in the bug channel. Stretch the hand you draw with. Then go back to the Tide.

When Steam moves the 24 September 2026 tile, watch launch week and the Updates Hub. When you only need URLs, use the Links Hub. When you only need a name for a caption, use the Credits list above and stop. Fan wiki. Official studio. Different jobs.
